So this past week I had a friend share something monumental with me. Yes…it was huge! We had gone over to this friends house for a fun get together and to eat dinner. This actual friend is also my dealer…makeup…for makeup people! I happened to mention to her that I was out of my beloved primer and needed some asap. I told her I had squeezed it almost bone dry and had turned and twisted the container until I was sure it was empty. She is so awesome I actually went home with some that evening but first she poured out on me some wisdom that this frugal, money-saving mama will not easily forget!
Break it open, cut it. You can get more out of it.
I was like nope I’m pretty sure I got it all out. Do y’all know what though? I went home and guess what I did? Yep! I cut it open….and what do you know but there was at least two or three more days of primer still inside that tube! Jackpot!! Doesn’t take much to get me all excited and that right there was enough to make my day so hopefully it can help you out as well. Toothpaste, concealer, primer…it ain’t all gone, cut that baby open! Oh and just another tip put it in a Ziploc bag to help it not dry out! You’re welcome!
A few days later as I was using my cut open primer I had a realization. It was one of those times when God speaks to you through the craziest of things. We can be a lot like my primer container. We can feel empty, squeezed past our limits, broken, used up and God can come along at our hardest times and cut us to the core. He opens us up to His promises and the beauty that can come from the broken. He heals our hearts and restores our minds. He gives us worth and meaning. He assures us there is beauty in the broken.
“The Lord is near the brokenhearted; He saves those crushed in spirit.”
Psalms 34:18 HCSB
So if you’re broken today. If you feel worthless, stagnant, useless…know that God loves you. He is here for you. He can open you up and show all the goodness that lies within. He can restore your soul. He can give you purpose. He can offer you life everlasting and a love that never runs out.
